will an old thrustmaster nascar pro racing wheel work in n2003 even though it
doesnt work off a usb port????? thanks
Using an old gameport Thrustmaster wheel in NR2003
A user asked whether a gameport Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro wheel would work in NR2003, and several confirmed it did. Goy Larsen could not get split-axis mode working until Tony Rickard pointed him to Thrustmaster drivers, after which it worked through the generic controller option. The thread ended in Monty Python banter.
Automated summary.
I don't see why not. Although I'm using a USB-based Logi MOMO Wheel, I'm still
using my gameport-based TSW pedals along with it in NR2003 (and in other sims).

Why not? My wheel runs off a game port just fine. It's a TSW, but the method
is the same. I could probably dust off my old T2 and get it to work.<g>

I never really thought about it, it just worked first time, similar
calibration routine as for previous Papy sims. I'll have to check...

I can't get mine to work in split axis at all, I seem to get it working
in Windows itself, but not in N2003, in either generic or directx (or
whatever) and there are no drivers for it from TM either, not that I can
find anyway
There's really no way of using my RedLine pedals with my current
desk/chair/PC setup and I'd like to get split axis working if possible
as it might be a while until I get everything properly sorted here again

GASP! The biggest plugger of Redline pedals isn't actually USING
them???
;-) It's temporary, I know...

Can't wait to get it all sorted though

Ok....that worked, for some strange and bizarre reason, it still won't
let me set up split axis in Windows, I switch to split axis mode and it
shows as combined, however, I can now use the "generic" choice in N2003
and get split axis through there, which I couldn't before I installed
those drivers
Does that make sense to anyone ?
Anyhew, after about 10 laps at WG I'm now a full second faster than I've
gone around there with these pedals before and the car "feels" different
than with combined, as long as it works :D

I've had some funnies which were resolved as I recall by loading the
Thrustmaster Control Panel and calibrating there. It certainly works for me
in Windows (98 & XP) such that I can use the Directx option in NR2003.

Barrister I: Ooh, that bit of a morning in the high court!
Barrister II: Oh, oh!
Barrister I: Oh, I could stamp my little feet at the way those counsels
are carrying on.
Barrister II: Oh, don't tell me, love.
Barrister I: Oh, dear, objection here, objection there. And that nice
policeman giving his evidence so well!
Barrister II: Oh, ah.
Barrister I: Beautiful speaking voice.
Barrister II: And what a body!
Barrister I: Oh, yeah
Barrister II: Oh, yeah. Ooh, ah.
Barrister I: Well, after a bit all I could do was bang me gavel.
Barrister II: You what, love?
Barrister I: I banged me gavel!
Barrister II: Oh, get away!
Barrister I: I did!
Barrister II: Ooh!
Barrister I: I did my "silence in court" bit.
Barrister II: Oh.
Barrister I: If looks could have killed, that prosecuting counsel would
have been in for thirty years.
Barrister II: Hum-hum!
Barrister I: How did your summing-up go?
Barrister II: Uh, well, I did my box voice, you know, "what the jury
must understand", and they loved it!
Barrister I: Ah.
Barrister II: I could see that little curly-headed foreman of the jury
eyeing me!
Barrister I: Really?
Barrister II: Oh, yeah. Cheating devil. I finished up with, I got really
strict: "The actions of these vicious men are a violent state upon the
community and the four pounds of the law is scarcely sufficient to deal
with their ghastly crimes!"
Barrister I: Oh, yeah?
Barrister II: And I waggled me wig! Whoaaoha!
Barrister I: You waggled you what?
Barrister II: I waggled me wig!
Barrister I: Really?
Barrister II: Ah, the only thing I waggled!
Barrister I: Ooh...
Barrister II: Ever so slightly, stood in effect.
Barrister I: Ooh!
Barrister II: Anyway, I gave him three years. Merely took ten minutes.
Barrister I: Ooh...well, as I said to Melvin Belly the other day, you
know: "You can put it in the hand of your attorneys, but it'll never
stand up in court!"
