Well John, that raps up any respect I had for you in this news group.
If there was any to begin with.

Flame warSpam thread that turned into tyre pressure advice
A thread of posts containing only the letter 'a' drew insults and complaints to the poster's ISP. Part way through it became a genuine discussion of how tyre pressure relates to spring rate in NASCAR Racing 2, with Jim Sokoloff estimating about 15 lbs/in per psi, and setups for Richmond were shared.

I think you've got the 'a' right already. Now you can try a 'b'.

John wake up, you're sleeping on the keyboard again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one question for you Mr. Daugherty; were you
droped on your head at birth?
Just one leeter on your keyboard!
> Just one leeter on your keyboard!
Yea,just one "LEETER".
> a
Hmm, a, a, a, ok. (last time this was J) Go to the end of the a...s
post. Hit Shift. Select "Mark as Read". Done.
I don't think the injury happened at birth, I think it happened when
he slammed his head against the keyboard! (when this happened the 'a'
key stuck perminently on his keyboard due to the amount of hard
material (rocks, ect) in his head!)
Just my opinion!

Sure picked the right letter, "a" is the first one is *** :)
Have a nice day
Please note: a complaint has been registered to your ISP. I'm sure you'll
be hearing from them.

The first letter in "Zodiac" is Z, this is also the first letter in
"Zero" which matches both your IQ and personality, welcome to my kill
file John.
Have a nice day :)
I'm sorry I must have missed the original message. Could somebody please
explain to me what this thread is about????
Ok ok mate, you've persuaded me to use my kill file. I hope you die soon

This thread started has a numerous messages containing only the letter
a. This thread was from a certain "person" who just likes to***
Zodiac, he's changing his handle cause it's the only way anyone will
read any of his garbage!!!

Even though I'm pretty sure the answer to this question is "there is no
answer", does anyone have (or at least believe) in a rule of thumb that
converts tire pressure to dynamic weight (ie, "increasing a tire by x
pounds is equivalent to adding y pounds of weight at that corner"), or
a rule of thumb that says "stiffening a shock by x percent is
equivalent to adding y pounds of pressure to a tire".
What I'm chasing is basically keeping the chassis snap at about the
same feel but changing how hot the tires run.
I keep thinking that I've heard Benny Parsons or one of the
commentators say something along the lines of "a pound of tire pressure
is equal to ??? pounds of weight" but I can't remember what the ??? is.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Todd
One psi is something like 15 lbs/in of tire spring rate if I remember
right. (That varies in a non-linear fashion though.)

You must be another mental giant
Just because I didn't deem a subject of "a" worth my time to read the
other day when I was busy and got in a little late now that I do have
NOTHING better to do doesn't make me a "mental giant". Of course since I
am reading this stupid thread now I would qualify.....

Why don't you go ask mommy what comes after 'a' while *** feeding you.
Hey you idiot.
Quit filling up the newsgroup with this stupid stuff.

I saw on TNN's "Inside Nascar" last week that a tire on a spring 'dino'
showed about 1000 lbs. Then two pounds of air was added, then the 'dino'
reading rose to about 1061 lbs.
Larry McReynolds said in an interview that 1 lb of air was equivalent to 15
lbs of spring. I'm not sure how that equates to the shock percentages in
the sim. However, I've found that tire pressure settings are coarser than
the shock settings in terms of the effect they have on the car. I asked Jim
Sokoloff to allow for tire pressure adjustments in 1/2 lb increments for
N3, which is the same increment that the WC teams use. I often make tire
pressure adjustments during a race and usually find that 1 lb is a
little too much.

From what my mate Mark Roberts has told me, no-one`s got much respect
for you either.
Mark don't respond to that craps. That's the best thing to do. If not, he
will right you things to make you angry.

Correct me if I'm wrong Jim, but these affects on the static weight
distribution for the shocks and tire pressure adjustments are not
implimented in N2. [guessing: They just affect the CG shift on the
corners (shocks) and the traction (tires).] You do not see the car's
corner weights change when you adjust these things in the garage.
Actually it would really be nice to see a detailed description of the
"virtual" physics that is implemented in the NASCAR games. (At least for
those of us that make a living over analysing things and can't help to
think it may help, or just plain interesting.)

I've watched this board as a mostly passive observer, asking questions
when I was at Wit's End and giving what I could.
I don't expect the enraged group will be appeased by this but...
NASCAR 2, as it stands, is *our sim*. It's like NASCAR...not all the
teams or drivers or whatever agree with how it is. We all can say "we'd
like this" or "we'd like that"...that's all really irrelevant.
What *is* relavent is that where we can ask decent questions, help
eachother, and go forward, we'll all enjoy the product more.
So my narrow-minded suggestion is: let's get on with the race.
I have a setup that runs decent 49.0's and 49.1's for Talladega on long
runs of 38 laps...I want to share that with the virtual community.
I can't get a decent setup for Richmond...I can't run better than
22.4's and it's really aggravating me.
You may have a better setup...I may be able to improve mine...mine may
not work for you..it may.
We need to have that sort of discussion here...not one of whining.
Just my thoughts.
Todd

Yes, please help Todd, however do not send him the answer only by
e-mail. As it stands I have only made it to 22.6 at Richmond and would
like to receive some tips also.

Todd, I ran this setups with the only two differences... my own gears
and my own wheel lock... I ran 121.5 with as my best time... I went
back and stiffened the LR shock and was just clipping 122's... give it
a try.... LR up from 5-10 % depending on your driving...
Let me know! Oh yeh.. I didn't know about the camber as I'm confused
as to what you've got listed above so I made the -2.40 and .80
