Nah...I've had that one ever since it came out. I even have all the tracks
converted with David Noonan's converter. GPL was easy to find. But no
kidding...I must have been looking in the wrong places for GP2 because I
couldn't find it after I joined the LFRS 1998 season. Even the other guys
in that league didn't have any idea where to find it.
Finally I found it through a link from Ebay.
And I don't know about waiting five years to get GP3. I'll be too danged
old to be able to use it. I'm already 60. I'm buying that one as SOON as
it comes out.
Then I'll have to buy a faster system.

Late discovery of Grand Prix 2 delights a player
Jim 'Pops' Tester finally found and enjoyed Grand Prix 2, prompting good-natured teasing about discovering a 1996 game years late. Posters corrected each other on GP2's release date and reminisced about the original F1GP.
Automated summary.
Just got it...just installed it...just drove it! I love it!
No wonder it took me a year to find it.
Did I mention...I LOVE IT!

Do you mean 5 years 'cos that's the delay in which that bloke is finding
old games, or 5 years cos' that's when GP3 might be finally released?

GP2 came out in 1986. I remember as it was the reason I bought
a computer for.

Ummmm... think that's a typo there. If you mean 1996, I just confirmed
it with the copyright date inside the CD cover on my copy.

Doesn't "Night Driver" (1976) count? The physics were just a bit below GPL
standards, though. :-)
July 1996!
After waiting all that time it came out while I was away on holiday in
Spain!
I diverted the family on the 200 mile drive back from the airport to a
computer games store :)

My apologies I obviously pressed an 8 instead of a 9 and as my
eyes were still shut I didn't realise.
Silly me!!
It was definatly 1996 as I remember I went to the UK for
Christmas 1995 and my brother introduced me to F1 GP on his ST.
He then showed me the screen shots on the internet for the
upcoming GP2.

Good on you mate!
A semi-famous ex-Prime Minister of our fair land was once quoted (out of
context, naturally!) as saying "Life wasn't meant to be easy". He should
have added ".....until you've retired".
Cheers Jim.

No way! Not 1986, I can assure you. That might have been when GP1 was
released but definitely NOT GP2.
The date on my GP2 box says copyright 1995.
