Notable threadNASCAR 4 demo appears on CGW cover CD

Users learned that the NASCAR Racing 4 demo was on Computer Gaming World's subscriber CD and clamoured for someone to upload it. Black Hole Motorsports explained it would only post the demo when legally allowed, given CGW's apparent exclusive, which led to accusations that sites cared about hits. The 80MB size and CGW's decline were also discussed.

There were also 15 or so here in Florida ,and about 10 or so in New York. The only reason why this was such a big deal was because Bush was running for president ,nobody even noticed this when he was a Governor of Texas. The democrats tried to pull up enough dirt on Bush to make him lose the election ,but they didn't succeded. ------------------ Seek & Destroy the competition - stewart_fan20 ESP Guitars.com - Team Losi.com Stewart_fan20's Page of Racing Sims and Racing News The NASCAR Driving School Tim Wheatley Administrator Posts: 2027 From:Lincolnshire, UK. I had long suspected that N4 was gay, but it is a bit over-the-top to "out" onself on the cover of a magazine. I wonder what its parents must think? And, really, in this context, must we discuss "uploads" -- why can't we all just show a little bit of respect, regardless of gender preferences shown? ;-) -- JB In article <8vuri9$e9a$[email hidden]>, "Alexpez" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Come on Tim, you know how careful Web sites need to be these days with copyrighted material. He is right to take offense to being called "spineless". Posting it 'somewhere' anonymously for everyone is not something they (bhms, et al) want to do because then they don't get credit/hits to their site. They really don't care about fellow simmers, it's all about credit. "Tim Wheatley" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:3jUU5.1449$s6.9058@stones...

Pretty sleazy for a Magazine to make a deal with a publisher to have exclusive rights for a demo. I don't think too highly of Sierra for doing this either. Just the fact that magazines include demo discs where no money or ad space is traded for is bad enough. I still read CGW but it's got lost more fluff and ton more ads in the last few years. Doesn't remind mush of the magazine I started reading back in the early 80's. Adam On Tue, 28 Nov 2000 20:27:45 -0000, "Tim Wheatley" <[email hidden]> wrote:

Well I'm sorry you are wrong on the hits as far as BHMS is concerned. We don't have any paids adverts on our page. We sometimes put up peoples Ads that have done favours or provided us with bandwidth or servers or other required material to further our sim news. And we are eternally grateful to the good people of TPO in Finland for their efforts to support us. Thats not to say that it might not change in the future and we do have many companies coming to us asking to advertise on our site but at the moment your uninformed, uneducated point of view is simply incorrect. In the past when we have posted exclusive material it has required ungodly amounts of bandwidth and we also have to abide by our gracious hosts rules as well. I believe we hit hit 50 gigs in two days at one juncture and we are fortunate that we have understanding hosts who share our passion.
