Predicting the NASCAR 4 post-release frenzy

JB and others joked about the predictable cycle of posts after the NASCAR 4 demo, from complaints to wheel questions and warez requests. Goy Larsen hoped to run touring cars and the Nurburgring in NASCAR 4 via The Pits' touring car patches, and Aussie V8 Supercars were praised.

Not sure if I'd want to attempt taking a 1.5ton car around the Norschleife though. ;-) Jan. =--- Goy Larsen wrote...

You can dig out all those NASCAR Heat posts and replace the words "NASCAR Heat" with "N4" about how it sucks and how hard it is to play and they can't wait for N5 or NH2. [email hidden] wrote:

Here we go again -- more Papy-induced frenzy. All these recent N4 demo posts are almost enough to make me yearn for a few more GPL posts. Almost. Why would you want to take a heavy ass car around nurburg when you have a perfectly good 1967 F1 car to take around the track? I hope that N4 comes with a sun roof so you can work on redding your neck while taking a few laps at the nurburg ;-) JB "Goy Larsen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

Hehe... how true :-) Speaking as one who is fortunate to have his moral fibre reinforced by a modem connection I can safely say that warez is a nasty, naughty habit. If I had cable or adsl I might be a little more tempted to see warez as a rather large demo. The road to hell is paved with good intentions though, and I suspect I have all the moral fibre of a Jackie Collins novel when, er... push comes to shove. Andrew McP

Touring cars are great...but I hope you don't compare touring cars to Nascar...sure they have the roofs...but those touring cars rip around those tracks! <--- SNIPPED ---->>> > And then the REAL issue > Is it better than GPL No but IMHO it is the closest thing to it that I've seen so far. I'll reserve a final decision until after I've run Watkins or Sears (but I doubt even that'll change my mind).

AussieV8 is great. Watched them up close at Surfers Paradise 6 weeks ago. Going on two wheels over the kerbs, and with the long flames out of the sides when downshifting, not even starting to mention the sound... *G* -- Olav K. Malmin remove .spam when replying

I caught the V8 supercars at Surfer's Paradise last year. I was expecting an anti-climax after watching the CARTs go around, but no, the V8s are awesome - as good or better than the CARTs from a spectator point of view.
