Kopie von NASCAR Racing 4 no go with new patch

N4 no-CD crack fails after the new patch

A user found that a no-CD executable stopped working after the NASCAR Racing 4 patch. Others complained about the game's flaky SecuROM copy protection needing repeated launches and suggested CD imaging tools; a patched no-CD file for the updated US version soon appeared and worked on the UK version too.

After installing the patch the race will no longer run using the Kopie von NASCAR Racing 4 no cd patch. Runs ok if CD is in drive. Suggestions?

Hm, does it work every now & then then? I had bloody copy protection issues with 'Black & White', which is supposed to run in Win2000, but oh no, the copy protection would see to that it would NOT work. Works like a charm in Win95, but I'm not used to rebooting anymore (well, only since Explorer starts acting up in Win2K it happens again). It just keeps on checking the CD... !@#$#@ If they can't create a reliable copy protection, just DON'T please. Yes, it works sometimes. I have to click on the N4 icon, wait a couple of secs to see if N4 starts, and if it doesn't, I have to click the icon again. On average I need to try 5 times, verrryyy annoying. And I very much agree with your last sentence!! C'mon, the physics of Tony Hawk II are great! :) Couple of days ago I finished the game and I got access to a bonus level called Skate Heaven. Beautifull level, very large will everything a skater could wish for. Nice touch: in the beginning you hear a low voice saying 'Skate on my son'.. very cool, excellent game. Andre >-Gregor

This ALWAYS happens when the main EXE is patched. Move to the CloneCD/DaemonTools method instead. You'll even be able to play online. -Larry "pacer" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:WDSF6.4343$[email hidden]... > After installing the patch the race will no longer run using the Kopie von > NASCAR Racing 4 no cd patch. Oh I like this level also :) The best thing is when you try to jump into the Volcano and fail, the voice will go "You suck". There are some amazing tricks you can do with the long ramp slide. Go into Windows Explorer if it doesn't launch and view the CD contents. If they show different than the contents of the N4 CD open and close the CD drive and hit refresh. Once the contents are there it should launch. "Andre Warringa" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I do too Andre..hahahaha Sadly I've had the race sim so badly for the past 2 months that poor Tony Hawk II is just spinning on my HD with me running race-sims.. Solves both problems for about $25. :-) Don't forget the cost of building the other one out, the new one in, the initial 'it will work so I'll just put the cap on' mistake, the 2nd attempt at rightly connecting ALL connectors, the reboot time (which is quite large at Win2K), and the annoying desk attendant who couldn't tell you which CD-ROM was SecuRom compatible! ;-) That makes up for a lot more than $25 in my book. Plus writing this post, hehe. Ruud van Gaal, GPL Rank +53.25 Pencil art : http://www.marketgraph.nl/gallery/ Free car sim : http://www.marketgraph.nl/gallery/racer/

When you image the CD, does that mean you have the entire CD stored on your drive? Ben Larry wrote in message <9KYF6.18159$[email hidden]>... >This ALWAYS happens when the main EXE is patched. > >Move to the CloneCD/DaemonTools method instead. You'll even be able toplay
