Where newcomers can race NASCAR 4 online

Gunnar Horrigmo, a new NASCAR 4 owner, asked where beginners could race online without being banned. Advice warned that the Papyrus servers were rough and recommended moderated servers such as Brick, WRD and Statracer, weekday mornings on Papyrus loops, or onlineracin.com. Gerald Moore explained what the server names meant.

Papy server. I don't think it's _possible_ to get banned from there for anything short of verbal abuse or driving backwards and wrecking people on purpose. Be warned. We are talking the dredges of N4 racing here. The Papy servers are UGLY! -Larry "Gunnar Horrigmo" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I guess the thing to do would be to practice some before racing online. There are alot of new drivers on Sierra.com and they don't all get banned so I would suggest just try to learn and not wreck anyone on purpose or flame people. -- Mike Grandy www.precision-racing.com "Gunnar Horrigmo" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > > ..and got N4 for christmas from the old ball and chain. now I don't > consider N4 very interesting for off-line racing, so how do I go about > finding newbie-races where I won't get wrecking-banned for screwing > up every other corner? > > TIA and MX > -- > Gunnar > #31 SUCKS#015 Tupperware MC#002 DoD#0x1B DoDRT#003 DoD:CT#4,8 Kibo: 2 > myk, trygg og god.
Stick with the Brick, WRD, Statracer, and WRD servers. On weekday mornings you can find quality racing on Papy Loops. John Cauthen "Gunnar Horrigmo" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

That would make sense. All the kiddies are in school :) I agree with the Brick, WRD, etc... servers. There also pretty stable. The Orion Servers used to be fun, but lately they've turned over the 'keys' to some moderators that use their Eject privilages as a replacement for a small, well, let's just say they are trigger happy and tend to use it for personal gratification... -Larry "John Cauthen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:a07ndo$aprm$[email hidden]... > Stick with the Brick, WRD, Statracer, and WRD servers. good to hear. but it isn't cool causing problems for people even if it's unintentional. I guess what I really need to know is where I should _not_ go. :) btw; thanks for all the replies, guys. -- Gunnar #31 SUCKS#015 Tupperware MC#002 DoD#0x1B DoDRT#003 DoD:CT#4,8 Kibo: 2 myk, trygg og god.

Is that the correct URL? Before, I simply got the 404 error. No way to 'sign up' or anything. I just tried it again and I get some stupid Netfinders.com and eRealEstate.com page. WTF? I'm up for an international good citizen award, so here goes: Brick, WRD, and Statracer are the names of the servers, same concept as Papy loop. WRD is a nice bunch. They won't host any races without a moderator present to keep a close eye on things. Crap driving usually brings a warning if it's an honest mistake, but they do boot people who are obviously out of place. Winston Cup is the name of the "top-level" series in NASCAR. Its is named after the trophy the champion of that series wins at the end of the season. The series is sponsored by RJ Reynolds, makers of Winston cigarettes. Pickup racing is what you do if you don't belong to a league. You go out to the Sierra lobbies and look for races to join. "Pickup" is just idiomatic English for... unscheduled, impromptu, err... someone help me here. OR, maybe you mean pickup racing like the Craftsman Truck Series that is also part of NASCAR. They race something that vaguely looks like a pickup truck. Personally, I'll only be impressed if they start racing with cargo in the beds, but hey, to each his own. Does it stay dark all the time in Norway, in winter? Or is it more like a really long twilight? I've always wondered. Indeed :) I live around 600 km south of the arctic circle, and the sun set 45 minutes ago 14:30-ish, and doesn't get up until around 9:30 tomorrow. Of course, in the summer, it's to total opposite where the sun is just below the horizon for a few hours. For those living north of the arctic circle, it's mostly a long twilight, but right now it's completely dark all day. Of course, during summer, the sun never sets. -- Olav K.
