Live for Speed demo praise and comparison with Racing Legends

Peter Nilsson raved about doing doughnuts in the Live for Speed demo's RWD XR GT, and others praised the quick multiplayer and dual-axis patch, saying they would pay for the demo. Doug Ellison pointed out the hypocrisy of attacking the West brothers for proposing a paid beta for Racing Legends. Others replied that LFS had appeared quietly with a working demo while RL had years of publicity and nothing to drive, and the exchange grew snippy.

F*ck! I just bought the RWD XR GT in Live for Speed (OK, so I don't drive much) and spent the last 20 minutes doing nothing but doughnuts and powerslides on the S/F straight. The AI drivers just sat there parked after the finish line and shook their heads in disbelief of the spectacle. This is SOOOO much fun! I could fork up $40 for this demo. /petern
After you finish you can go around the course backwards. When you get to the finish line, hit the parked cars head-on. :) "Peter Nilsson" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

You know, that's something to consider. I enjoy this demo so much that I almost feel guilty not paying for it. I don't know if everyone would pay $40 for a demo, but I would certainly pay $20 or so, especially if it came with a rebate coupon for the full version (6 to 12 months from now). Add one more track (maybe Laguna Seca or Lime Rock), replay control, more control over the axes and multi-controller, and it's all set for online racing. Most of our local, real racers only drive one or two tracks anyway. Probably some of the track gurus will also come out with nice stuff. I don't know the financial status of the LFS team, but it is something to consider. Or, maybe a basic release of the game now, with the changes I've mentioned, and then an add-on pack later. It sure is nice to see a development team take this kind of pride in their work. GPL wasn't a big financial success. I hope that's not going to be true for LFS. -- Slot Tweaks & Reviews www.slottweak.com "Peter Nilsson" wrote > This is SOOOO much fun! I could fork up $40 for this demo.
They whipped out that multiplayer/dual-axis patch pretty fast. Impressive. 1) The fully working LFS demo is on my pc, the RL demo is not. 2 + the rest) Not important untill a RL demo is released. Andre

So maybe they should start to charge for the demo now ? Or would it have gotten as popular as it is now if it costed anything to begin with. Logic is a nice car.... -- Olav Malmin remove .spam when replying

My opinion.... LFS-no publicity, all work done in secret then released, great demo WESTS-Years of self publicity,no evidence of work done for us to use, never released demo. What comes in the future might change this. AD
Um, let's not start anything here :) Their demo's have provided them an instant, guaranteed sale to me after it is released. That's enough. No need to pay for the Demo :) -Larry "GTX_SlotCar" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:akjh4g$1j2q6s$[email hidden]... > You know, that's something to consider. So you expect people to download it - then pay for it in arrears? lmfao DOug

You say it's ok to pay for it - but you wouldnt pay for it up front. Thus you pay for it in arrears. Logic DOug

Where did I say that? Andre PS I'm affraid even the West brothers find your histerical defending of RL becoming rather ridiculous.

Nothing substantial.. At least not compared to the incredible stuff you post !
LFS actually exists. :-) "Andrew MacPherson" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > /me starts a "spot the difference" competition between RL and >LFS.
