Even when I managed under 100, I knew I had loads more in me.  Come 56 last
month, I thought my driving was improving all the time and, albeit much
slowed down, it would continue.

Now at 21.07 things are BAD :-(.  Although I have plenty of work still to do
at Spa and Kyalami, I'm presented with the ultimately sickening conclusion
of the two most difficult tracks for me, yes, the 'Ring and chuffing Monaco.

The 'Ring at least has that monumental 172 corners vibe going on, comforting
me that I still have lots to learn.  But Monaco?!  I know where the corners
are; how long is it going to take to work out braking points, exit points
and how to get through that damn chicane in one piece?!  About a hundred
laps later and still can't break 1:30.  I'm not happy.

Monaco chicane: stare at where you want the car to GO, not at the big solid
objects you're trying to avoid. DON'T FOCUS ON THE BALES - instead
concentrate on that (admittedly bumpy) ribbon of tarmac through the gap.

unless you're using the Murasama ;-) I'd suggest, sometimes the secret to
being fast is to focus on driving clean and controlled rather than fast. If
you try to be fast, chances are you forget to drive well, in terms of
keeping the flow, driving the right lines, keeping the car smooth under
braking and acceleration etc. Whenever I had a mental speed barrier, I used
to break it by giving up on trying to be fast at all cost, but instead
remembering the fun this sim driving actually is. Sounds silly maybe and I'm
not sure Greger did his WR's like this, but it should be good enough to get
a negative GPL rank.
