How do I speed up Matrox?

I get the same vid score on a Matrox Millennium as my Stealth 3D 2000 in
GP2. Video snoop is off in the BIOS and there is no video caching setting.
Will fastvid help GP2 and other games? System: Micron Millennia Pro Plus
200 (8/96).
