I just bought the IndyCar Racing and it was version 1.01e. (Bought it used.)
Well, that version didn't work on my machine (486/33 8M), it hanged suddenly,
sometimes I got to drive one lap, sometimes none at all. So I upgraded it to
1.04 with the Papyrus' icr104.zip patch from their ftp-site, but now when it
asks the word from the manual, I type the correct word and it doesn't accept
it! Is there something to do, for example does anyone have a working crack to
this?

Played the game at my friends place, and it was quite unbelievable, I wanna
play this at home!

If you had 1.01e, you need to get 1.04e.  It should be available where
you got 1.04.  The "e" is for the European version.

You need to get the 1.04e.zip patch.  The e stands for English (Brit)
which you must have.

Your problem is, that you bought the english version of indycar racing with
a handbook in best british english and used the patch for the US version which
requires the passwords from the US handbook ( kind of a native dialect of
english ). Try to get the upgrade ICR104e and you won't have anymore trouble.
Location of all patches:

ftp-site: ftp.std.com
directory: \customers\vendors\papyrus (or something like that)
