TURBO Mod - How Do You do a "Clean Install"?

by Rudebo » Fri, 10 Jan 2003 09:19:25

Like the question sez. When I put the disc in there is no option for Install
nor when I run Autorun or try and open up the disc.  Presumably it detects
that I already have F1-2002 installed and won't let me install it again.
Which doesn't seem to be very good anti-piracy.  Anyway, do I really need to
re-install and if so how?

TIA

Copy the CD to a folder of your choice (if you already got an install look
for files you can leave out), reset the read-only attribute on the files
(pain in the neck but has to be done) and then use the no-CD crack on the
.exe

Bit convoluted, but it works (it's how I did it).

Uninstall F1 2002 in the control panel and then remove any remnants by
deleting the entire F1 2002 folder.  Autorun should then allow you to
install.  If, for some reason, it won't allow you to uninstall in the first
place, you'll have to remove the registry entry which says that F1 2002 is
installed so that you can reinstall it.

And, the CLEAN INSTALL is not really necessary.  I have been running it
since day one from the same folder that mods CART, SSM, GTR, TURBO and ALFA.

Bascially just look at how the other mods are arranged and duplicate that
for Turbo.

Find "setup.exe" on the CD and run it, not the autorun.
