I write this in the hope that a Papyrus tech will read this.

I hope that you take your time in writing Nascar 2, in that you spend
time making your game engine more advanced. All to often, when driving
Nascar, you have no "drivers sense" of the car, and the car feels as
though the earth's gravitational force is multiplied by 10 times.

GP2 is a good game... not the greatest, but no one has made that one
yet. Gp2 has though, a vastly superior game engine, and though it
lacks some reality, it does have a much better "driving feel" to it
then the products that Papyrus has released as of yet. When playing
Nascar, you cannot feel the dynamics of the suspension, nor the car's
reaction to shifting and gas, or track dimensions... the car may sway
ever so slightly, but one can tell this is only a directional "faking"
of the***pit.

After playing GP2, it is so obvious that they spent much of their time
on making the game dynamics as real as they could. I hope Nascar 2
will represent this as well, spend time on it and lets not see a
Nascar-1 with just new graphics... that would put all of us here off.
I think Papyrus has the potential to superscede the competition.

Do you realize how much a NASCAR sled weighs? I think that the feeling
of car physics was excellent in NASCAR, big heavy powerful cars
sliding around the track rubbin fenders. I like GP2 alot and have
played it nonstop since it came out, but you cant compare the two.
ICR2 yes NASCAR no. ICR2 got deleted from my hardrive a couple of days
after I got GP2 and will not be back( at least untill the optimised
version comes out) it was just a little too rough around the edges.

Actually, I am fairly well aware of the weight Winston Cup cars carry
around a track. Of course they are considerably heavier, what I am
speaking of is in the game engine's ability to give the user the feel
for the suspension. Now Winston Cup cars have considerably more
suspension travel then a F1 car, and the simulations are poised in
opposite directions on this. Nascar was great for its time, much
better then Indycar, but I am concerned that Papyrus will maintain its
antiquated game engine with Nascar 2... I hope they will take cues
from GP2 on what makes a good race simulation.

Sure GP2 lacks damage realism and other factors, it has to for a
computer game, but it really shines in the driving department, anyone
who has been playing these sims on pc's for awhile can tell hands
down.
