Youtube is getting very good at automatically stripping music off videos, that's
why I stick to classical music usually, which is harder to claim copyright on. But
this time I had a track I really wanted to use, so this version without music...

director's cut (as recommended by nine out of ten self-interested movie makers)
from here...

I wasn't happy with that as a compromise. The download version remains the one I'm
happiest with, but this...

Nicely done video Andrew, thanks for sharing that, you're tempting me
to devote time to my oval license which I only did about 4 short track
races on the rookie legends before deciding ovals weren't for me (I
was probably a biased road racer to start with), maybe the next time
there is a 24hrDuFun race with the trucks on one of the long ovals
I'll give it a shot to see if it's a more fun oval experience.

The short ovals can be a fairly intense experience, but I spend all my time either
avoiding crashes or hugging the outside being overtaken. I do a few for a change of
scenery. But the big ovals are a totally different experience. Potentially very
lonely indeed (at least at the back of a road race you still have the track to
beat!) but the thrill of pack racing is very hard to beat really. It's unlike any
other kind of racing experience.... and not very good for the *** pressure at all.
:-)

I nearly cracked the other week when Talladega and the COT were on the rota, and in
retrospect I wish I had.

This version is great!  Who would've thought truck racing and Vivaldi would
be a good combination ...

The download version remains the one I'm

I forgot to reply to this. Thanks! And yes, it worked pretty well... surprisingly
well, in fact! I needed something to replace the original track (Sultans of Swing
by Dire Straits) and just dropped the Vivaldi piece onto the editor, lining it up
with the end of the movie.

And that was it! The start lined up nicely enough with an appropriate bit of movie,
and there were even some sections which looked like they'd been edited closely to
match the music. Overall It was rather more satisfying than I had any right to
expect.

They say you make your own luck. I say no, sometimes you just get very lucky. :-)
