Well, I think for me it would steal me away from GPL in the same way
the alpha GPL demo stole me away from just about everything else. :D
From the preview AVI we can see that around 8 AI cars, with all the
graphics is up and running, presumably with a human driver in there
somewhere. I believe the system running the preview in Daytona was a
P450 with SLI V2's... That is quite hefty but 2 V2's cost less than
the price of a single V1 only a year and a bit ago... I can't imagine
if 42+ AI is going to run well on anything at the moment :( and that
might be one of the biggest factors as to why N3 will not be out until
later this year. From what I can picture, N3 only needs add an
aerodynamic aspect to the physics model, the basic physics model being
good enough for todays computer technology (IMO)...
Yep, it was released first at one of those webzine type sites and was
about a 8mb D/Load.... Once installed, it featured the ability to race
any length, with around 8 AI cars, at Atlanta and Watkins Glen. Only
problems were, the pits didn't work so you couldn't run a full length
race, the tire temps were inaccurate (this was noted in the readme)
and the sys.reqs were quite increased. I believe I was running a P66
at the time, and only the SVGA mode was available, which meant only
car textures for me! I soon saw it on a P133 and it was very nice w/o
track texture with the 8 AI..... Of course the spotter was the main
improvement, and the modelling of WG....
