F1RC lost MSFF!?

I made the latest "security update" from MS pages. I suppose that it
is not the reason, but it is the only change before the problem:
Now F1RC has lost its understanding of my (split axis) MSFF wheel!
Other sims have no problems (GPL, N4, GP3, F1CS200, Viper...)

First try: the gas and brake were working the opposite way! The more
you push, the less it effects! Then I tried to give new values to
the controls: the only effect was that my mouse left click seems
to want to become the only control device...

Any ideas? Is there something strange with UbiSoft's way of programming?

Yea, it's a problem with Ubisoft's programming. Just go into the gmae
options and select the axis for brake and pedals again and it should
be fine again. I have to do this everytime I play F1RC (which isn't
often). Someone said to depress the gas pedal as you start F1RC to fix
it, but it never worked for me. I have a MSFF wheel too.

Yes this has happened to me, too. But now the problem in re-selecting the
controls! I cannot activate the selections: When I click for example
"turn left" or "brake", I get just "Y+" there! No possibility of telling
the game, what I really want to be the that axis...

Yea, I've seen that too. If you keep diddling with it eventually it
will work. Ubisoft really needs to get that patch out soon. I deleted
F1RC off my HD until I can evaluate it post-patch.

Had the same problem.
I d'l the KI-, Performance & Physicsupdate2001 (v1.3) by Marc Wessels from
www.f1-rc.de and that new mecacar.de solved that problem for me.

Funny: now when I changed to Magny, and "diddled" for a while with
setting the axis, it works again! I still think there is something
quite unprofessional in their programming! (I teach programming at
the Univ. of Helsinki...:-)  And as a paying customer I think UbiSoft
owes me a patch that corrects this kind of clear bugs in their
commercial software!

They said there would be a patch released April 16th, it's now June
25th. Not only are they ***programmers, they are also liars.

P.S. There will be a patch eventually.

That was me, and just to clarify, it doesn't work if you push it to the
floor.  You only push it halfway to the floor.
