I had the same problem, then updated the glide driver with the version
that's in the dload and all is well.

Has anyone tried making the turn down the intersecting roads yet?

I had quite the problem getting it to run as well. Either the black
screen with sound, or blackscreen from the get go. I solved number
two. There was a message hidden in a window that said "vxd error,
expected 1.2 got 1.1" or something like that. There is only one vxd,
fxmemmap.vxd. A search turned up some 15 copies, mostly in install
files I had for trying to solve this problem...but...there was one
each in windows and windows\system. They were different versions. I
removed all the copies and put in a fresh one in windows from glide
2.43. Viola! I guess glide install puts it in one of those dirs, but
windows searchs the other path first. I have had this happen with
other windows files before. After fixing this both problems
disappeared.

I had the same problem.  I installed the new Glise drivers and then it
worked fine.  Well, the way it's suppose to work I suppose.......not too
good.

Just finished trying to run the 3dfx TD4 demo on my machine, all that
happens is that I get a black screen with a few colored pixels, then
back to the Win95 GUI, no error message...

My machine:

Tyan Tomcat 4, P200MMX w/32M EDO
Intense Voodoo
AWE64 SB

Updated to DirectX 5 and latest Glide driver per TD4 readme file.

Any suggestions?
