From your Gran Turismo 2 Plymouth dealership you can buy something
called just "MuscleCar".

Is this because Warner Brothers didn't want to give Sony the rights to
use the name "Roadrunner"?

Or, retrospectively, would Plymouth have been prevented from using the
name, too?   (Especially since a Warner Brother's trademark did
frequently pop up in association with the car).  "Superbird" seems okay.

Talking about licensing, there's that strange disclaimer at the front
of the game, too, implying that perhaps some of the car likenesses
weren't done quite perfectly enough to satisfy the manufacturers.

I would expect that it's more because Subaru dealers were tired of
explaining that Imprezas sold in the US don;t come with 276 HP. :)

The 4wd cars might not be modelled right. Some of them aren't full-time
4WD, like the Skyline GTR, I believe.

I think it's more interesting that they have a "Use your turn signals,
wear your seat belt and drive safely in real life" message. I guess too
many people tried driving like they do in GT. :)

I think the overall dimensions of the Mustangs look wrong.
They look more like Chargers.

<snip>

Which Mustangs do you mean? Are there any old Mustangs in the game? I
haven't seen any yet.. The GT-350 and GT-500, which are basically <ustangs,
look exactly like the real ones.  The only problem I've seen, is that the
little horse emblem on the front grill goes on the driver's side (left), and
in the game, it's on the passenger's side (right).

I'm not a Mustang expert, but I'm close - I have several Mustang books, and
used to subscribe to Mustang Monthly for about 5 years, and have owned
several old Mustangs.

If there are 71-73 Mustangs in the game (which I haven't seen, but am hoping
for), they look big and fat, sort of like a Charger.

The old Cougar , which is also basically just a Mustang with a different
body, also looks correct.

I take it back, it is on the driver's side. In the showroom picture, and on
the test track. I would swear I saw it on the passenger's side in a replay
once. Hmmm...

I meant the Shelby GT... which trailed around at the end of the Grand
Valley 300.   It was 14 laps down when I finished (nice touch that,
telling you), and eventually finished in 2-21:11.2

Or were they really longer, lower and generally less sort of "squat" than
a Mustang?  A Shelby GT350 or GT500 was a Mustang, wasn't it?

You're like to catch one if you do a "camera preview" of the GV300.
Change the focus of the camera with the direction buttons till you find
one.  It'll be the one repeatedly crashing into the wall before the
tunnel.  And probably in last place.  No wonder damage can only be
turned on in 2 player mode...

Oh, maybe the whole problem is with the aspect ratio of my TV?
I'd even say Impreza wagons look longer and lower than real.
Minis and Civics look okay, though.

Duh.  "Roadrunner" does occur in the information screens for the car.
Sort of strange.
