I have uploaded a new demo (v0.017) for you to try out.  I have made some
improvements from  Sirocco .014.

- Low speed improvements (using the relaxation method if your interested)
- Proper brakes (they were just a mystical force before)
- Multiple Controller Support - no shifter yet - but should be simple to do
if anyone is interested.
- Tyres tuned a little (should give more grip)
- An approximation of downforce - no proper wings as yet, just a mystical
downwards force proportial to speed squared.

My setup doesn't work Ash.  Here is my JOYSTICK.DAT file:

MaxThrottle = 1000
MinThrottle = 0
MaxBrake = 1000
MinBrake = -1000
MaxSteeringBothSides = 1000

ThrottleAxis = 1

DownButtonDevice = 0
UpButtonDevice = 0

UseKeys = 1

KeySteerSpeed = 0.005
KeySnapBackSpeed = 0.0025

Everything is on Device 0.  Steering is on X -1000 to 1000.  Throttle is on Y 0
to 1000.  Brake is on RZ -1000 to 1000.  Is that wierd enough for you? <g>

Nah thats not weird - it should cope ;)

I think that my calibration routine is a little too sensitive (it will mark
the first thing with > 100 difference).  Be VERY careful while calibrating
not to steer the wheel at all as the steering device is being detected for
everything.  I think i'll up the threshhold to maybe 200 (or even have it
adjustable on the calibrator), problem is if its too high there may be some
weird controllers that only give values 0 - 100 (or perhaps 200).

Make sure every other axis is at the "released" state (by observing the
values) while calibrating.

Hmm, just noticed this - the calibrate.exe tool should have set this to 0 -
did you change it manually to try it out with keys?

Hehe.  No to both questions.  So UseKeys=0 would mean that it's looking at
my controller?  I'll try that when I get home later.  I didn't see that
either...

Its now sorted, there were a couple of bugs, and I upped the calibration
threshhold, please try it again if you have time :).

Check... you the man Ash (eventhough I have "normal" controller  ;-))!

It's coming ever more alive. A lot more feel for the limit present now.

I guess you're already aware of this, but just in case: when in "cockpit
view" the car appears to clip into the road to just about wheelarch level
under heavy braking. "Brake disk view" doesn't show that at all.

It is starting to feel a little better - it will probably be back to square
one when I add tracks with slopes ;).

I havent noticed the behaviour you mention, it does sink from time to time -
but I think thats mostly a problem with dodgy spring / damper values.  I'll
try to reproduce it tonight when I get home.
