Where to buy controllers in L.A.?

by de.. » Fri, 03 Sep 1999 04:00:00

Hi,

Excuse me if this message is posted twice.

I'm trying to find a good controller for GPL. I currently have a
Thrustmaster T2 which sucks. I almost ordered a TSW2 yesterday but
couldn't get over the price which was fast approaching $700. You know I
noticed that there was a simple switch that they were charging $35 for!
This is truly amazing, that switch couldn't cost more than $5 at a
hardware store.

Anyway I've decided to try out Logitech Wingman Formula Force. I called
several places here in L.A. yesterday but couldn't find one in stock
anywhere. Does anyone know of a place that would actually have these? I
would also consider going real cheap with something like the Mad Catz
Andretti wheel just to tide me over till I can make up my mind about
SRC vs TSW vs Logitech (possibly with the pedals from Redline if that
can be made to work).

So if anyone knows of a place not too far from mid-city L.A. where I
can find good controllers please let me know.

Thanks, Derek

I just ordered my Logitech Wingman FF from BuyComp.com, which I believe is
located in L.A.  The wheel shipped out of Anahiem, so I assume that would be
fairly close to you, (only a couple days to deliver UPS ground).  I paid 127
including S&H.

Derek, I picked mine up at Best Buy in Pasadena back in November of last
year. Last time I was in the store they still stocked them, however they are
still full retail! If you can wait a couple of days for the shipping,
BuyComp.com is a much better deal.

They also have the CH pedals for $35.00, so for less than the cost of the
LWFF at Best Buy, you can get the CH pedals and the LWFF at BuyComp.com and
have the best FF controller available...IMO of course<g>.
