I usually don't like free advertising, :)  but if you were ever a fan of
the old Can Am series, the upcomming issue of Road & Track has several
articles on the Chaparel(one P or two?)s of Jim Hall.  The 2E is the
featured car with a two page poster of the mechanicals under the skin.  Phil
Hill and Hall and others have input.  Good stuff!
Several issues back they also covered the only V winged Indycar (that I
know of) that was driven by the Vels-Parnelli Jones team of Mario Andretti,
Al Unser, and one other guy I always forget(Roger Mcluskey???)

Thanks for the heads-up Dave. Jim Hall was one of my racing heros when I was
a kid. I never got to see him race, but I saw many of his cars over the
years in Can-Am, USAC and CART. I'll never forget a time years ago at the
old Ontario Motor Speedway, while waiting out a rain delay, he and Al Unser
Sr spent a good hour with this wide-eyed youngster (and frankly, a bit of a
road-racing snob) explaining the nuances of oval racing and it's attraction
as a pure engineering exercise. Although I still prefer road racing, they
gave me a new appreciation for what the designers, mechanics and drivers
were up against.

BTW, I believe it was Joe Leonard that was the third driver on the
Vels-Parnelli "Super Team".
