I have this installed and working fine. The sim starts, connects, etc. When I
log on with my primary pc I see two instances of my server.  A Tcp/Ip and a
Sierra. One has a ping and one doesn't. Is this normal? People are reporting
that they can see the server on Sierra and ping it, but can't connect. A
timing out error. I have forwarded the appropriate ports on my router and
have added the port to my core.ini. I can connect, but no one else. I been
reading the support pages, but perhaps I'm missing something.
Any ideas? Sorry if this is stupid, but this stuff is rather new to me. I'm
sure I will have more inane questions in the future.

Thx

See if you have this setting in your core.ini file:

[Communications]
alternate_ip_addr_lookup=1      ; Find IP addresses another way

If that's set to 0, change it to a 1 and try again.

That's the way it's been set.
I have ports 32765 through 32800 opened on my router. The server port is set
to 32766. The server shows up on Sierra, but has no ping and no one can
connect to it. It even shows up on my local network. That is how I have to
connect to it. The Sierra servers window has two copies of my server when I
log on. One has T in the Network column and the other has S. I can only
connect to the one with T. Others only see the S server.

If I remember correctly (been since N4 that I hosted off my local server)
that's a Sierra deal and has nothing to do with DeMONs. Can you connect to
the TCP host without going into Sierra?

says...

I just happened to think about something - when you specify ports to
forward, some routers allow you to specify the protocol to forward on
those ports. NR2K3 uses UDP - not TCP/IP.

If your router doesn't allow you to select the protocol to forward on
the selected ports, all traffic is forwarded without regard for
protocol, so it's a non-issue.

I had the same thing happen when I first set mine up.  Damned if I can remember
the fix now... :-(
Check in your player.ini and see if there are two entries for [ip0] or [ipx0].
The answer to that may jog my failing memory.
