I was curious... the GT2 intro video that I downloaded from the web has all
sorts of 1960s GP cars and drivers. One would think it was an advert for
GPL. Why did Sony put all the old F1 iron in the video when it has nothing
to do with the game?

A lot of GT2 is surprisingly closely based on this, even down to the
names "GT300" and "GT500", not to mention the car names and liveries.
Perhaps the Japanese consider this the logical evolutionary step
*after* Formula 1. 8-)
