You people that are wondering how much it will cost for Ten they have set
up a deal for 15 dollars a month unlimited access for the first 25,000
people to sign up. This offer is good until Dec.31st. I've already joined.

The fine print when you join TEN says that the half-price offer goes thru
Dec. '97, then you're back to paying full pop. From what I've found out so
far with ping rates, trace route checks and latency, I don't want to sign
up now and pay for who knows how long and still not be able to race due to
latency problems once NRO comes online. Good luck to those of you already
signed up!

Unless you are planning to use TEN for other games, it may not be
"prudent" to sign up now anyway.  The last I heard NRO isn't planned for
"beta" on TEN until April '97.  By the time it is officially released you
would have 6 or less months at the reduced rate.  Well it may save you
about 25% over the year, but. . .

One note, I have it from "good sources" that the half-price deal on TEN
will not reduce your cost for NRO.  Based on the little info available,
it appears likely to me that the NRO will have its own pricing structure
separate from TEN, rather than using the TEN prices plus a surcharge.
Just guessing on the last note, but hopefully Papy will be forthcoming
on the pricing in the near future.
