I've seen it at two different Best Buy's around the Chicagoland area for $99.50
also.  If I were you I'd being getting some money back.

Good Luck

I went to buy one of these tonight.  They seemed to be hard to find since
they were closed out at $99.50.  Very attractive price.  Well, I found one
that had just come in.  Catch is, when I get to the register, it's now $150.
Nobody could tell me why it was that way, just that some number on the box
didn't match the one on the price ticket.  According to Logitech, there is
only 1 version of the LWFF, so what gives?  According to a fair amount of
people here, this seems like the best wheel for me to use with N3.  It may
be worth keeping at $150, since that seems like not too bad of a price.  It
just pisses me off that their customer service, corporate and local, is so
bad.  What the ***kind of response is, "Well, I don't know why, it just
is?"  Hopefully, someone here can help me figure out what, if any
differences there are in LWFF(maybe the logitech support guy didn't know
what he was talking about.)

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post, just knew a bunch of you had
this wheel.

Thanks, Ed

Could be the LWF which is the non force version of the LWFF.  The LWFF has a
red steering wheel, the LWF has a yellow one.

I know the Best Buy closest to me no longer carries the LWFF..just the LWF.

I had a LWFF on order from Buy.com for a few weeks now but it would be till
next month until they got any in stock. Looking elsewhere on the internet
did not turn up any other places that had it in stock. Even the Logitech
online store had none for sale!

I decided to call my local (1 hour away) Electronics Boutique to see if they
had any. The guy told me they did, and that the price was $79! I asked again
to make sure if it was the force feedback version with the red steering
wheel and he said it was. So I called a friend who happened to be in that
area at the time to go pick it up for me. When she got there they rang the
wheel up for $150-my friend told them they quoted me $79, and the guy
remembered me calling him earlier and telling me that price also. Seems as
if someone has accidentally written the $79 on the force version instead of
the non-force version. To their credit, the manager came out, stood behind
the quoted price and sold the wheel for $79!

I have used the MSFF wheel a good bit, but I like the LWFF better-much
smoother (as has been told here many times), and the pedals, although not
that good, aren't as bad as what I thought they would be after hearing all
of the complaints about them.

I read yur post on RAS newsgroup.  Best buy sucks.  I had the same problem
when i went to buy a Saitek X36 flight stick combo.  They marked it as
$79.50 and then when i got to the register it rang up as $130.  I was just
a little angry.  They said "that's just the way it is".  Morons if you ask
me.

I believe the law states they have to sell it at the advertised price.

No?

I had a simular problem at CompUSA with a CH F-16 Combat Stick (fancy
programable joystick for Flight Sims ect) The price marked on the
shelf was like 1/2 the price it should have been and when I took it to
the register they scaned the box and it rang up at regular price. I
told the cashier about the price on the shelf and she called the
manager, so me and him went walking over to wear I found it and
he seen the tag and promptly removed it but he was nice enough to let
me have it for the price it was marked. I thought that was the way it
suppose to work, aint there a law about false advertising? If it was
me I would have raised hell until the offered to sell it to me at the
advertised price or threatened to call the law on me, one of the two.
If you dont stand up for your rights you wont have none!

Larry,

No they don't. As an example there is no law that states that in New
York. What the law says is that if it's a misprint, they must have a posted
retraction. If it's misticketed, then when it's pointed out to them, they
should change the price tickets within a reasonable period of time. If you
file a complaint, you have to be able to prove that the mis-pricing issue was
done on purpose. In which case they could be fined. And while fines are
handed out all the time, they still don't have to honor the ticketed price.

scribbled...

That almost happened to me, but at a Fry's Electronics in Sunnyvale,
California.  I had gone to the local Best Buy, but they were selling
the LWFF for $130-something, so I drove over to Fry's and they had
only one left, which was red-tagged (sale) for $95.95.  Funny thing,
too, was that it was NOT in the same aisle with the rest of the wheels
and joysticks - it was in the next one over all by itself.  Anyhow, I
immediately grabbed it and took it up to the cashier where it rang-up
as $125-something.  I stopped him and told him about the tag I saw and
he tried to convince me that what he rang up is what it should be, but
I had checked the PLU#'s to make sure they matched before I had
brought it up, so I asked him to get the Supervisor.  He came around,
called the hardware guys on the phone, and they confirmed the
existence of the tag and I got it for $95.95.

It was not a returned unit, so I'm assuming it was the last of the
"old" units (bundled with F1 and Motorhead) and that's why it was
marked down.  I've been back since then and they had the new wheels
(bundled with SCGT) priced back at $125-something.

Getting back to Best Buy, I admit that I've only purchased one thing
from them - a DVD of "Saving Private Ryan" when it first came out.
They had them marked as on sale for $19.99, but when I got to the
counter, it rang-up as $24.99.  I brought it to their attention and
they sold it to me for $19.99.  Not exactly a great first impression
of the store.  Heh.
