Problem is there is no way in the near future that anyony can convey
what it really feels like to be in a race car on a road course. The
current crop of sims do a great job of visuals and even some of the FF
effects are quite good (rumble strips sound for example). There are
some (around $2K US I believe) setups that try and toss your body
around to give you input but the reality is your body doesn't move in
a race seat with 5-6 point harnesses on. It WANTS to, but it can't. So
I guess what I am saying is the sims that are out now are very good at
doing what is possible, giving you a sense of being there. I use them
for practice at my "local" tracks (Watkins Glen, Limerock Park) but as
good as they are they don't have the correct cues in them that we (RL)
use to judge for turn in, so it's more of a fun practice than a
practical one. Have fun with them, if you're young enough who KNOWS
what 10-20 years will bring!
As for SB, I have the original and will get SB2 when it comes out.
Graphics are a big part of the immersion in a game, and from what I
understand it will be gorgeous as well as quite "realistic".
