HELP!

by WarriorSpir » Wed, 18 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I just purchased a new computer and it lists the sound card as either a 'AdMOS
3000A PCI Sound'  or a 'QS 3000A Sound Blaster Device'  either way I am unable
to configure the sound through the 'Setup' program.  It does nothing but close
itself when I push the 'Autodetect' option.  When I tried using one of the
pre-listed sound systems in hopes it would match up close enough to actually
play the sound, it just freezes in the setup program.  Any help would be
greatly appreciated.  Either post here or reply to my e-mail -

HELP!

What you need to do is go to control panel, system. Look under device
manager and get properties on whatever it sees as your sound card. Go to the
resources section. Write down the IRQ, DMA, etc...

Go into Sound setup again. Use Sound Blaster 16 and manually select the
appropriate numbers.

Some people say that hitting the "test" button will***this up, but I've
not had any problems with testing after doing this.

Hope it helps...
