Q:Msforcewheel + Msgamepad?

Please help,

I am thinking of buying the microsoft force wheel, I have the gamepad
already, will I lose force feedback if I plug the wheel into gamepad, or
does it have to be the sound card gameport for optimum force effects, Also
does the wheel cause some games to slow down, I used to have ms force
feedback stick at that happened a lot with this stick.

Thanks in advance,
Darren.

Generally, you should take this for granted with current FF
implementations. It's just that with some setups the framerate hit is
more evident than with others. MS's FF wheel is not among the best when
CPU load is considered.

I've got the MS wheel myself, connected to Cel450A/256Mb/TNT/SBLive
setup. In some games the drop in framerate is quite evident. So far I've
been pretty happy with it, though. Probably because I don't feel I've
missed out on anything - the framerate hit hasn't been visible with the
worthiest of FF implementations.

My experiences:
(I've played the following games with MSFF wheel as well as using my old
Thrustmaster GP1)

SCGT -  definite drop in framerate
Viper Racing - no visible drop
MGPS2 - no visible drop
Powerslide - no visible drop
NFS3 - no visible drop
NFS4 - clear drop if all FF effects enabled, disable one category and
and you're good to go with hardly any slowing at all.
