replacing pots for a logitech wheel

by John Courtn » Fri, 10 Aug 2001 03:21:18

Hi,
I have a just simple Logitech Wigman Formula GP (no force feedback, the
yellow one)  and about 8 months after purchase the wheel pot has
started to fail, it "spikes", making driving not fun.  I e-mailed
Logitech about it and they said they offer no replacement pots.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement pot for a logitech
wheel.  I have tried a few electronics stores and they don't
have anything like it.  At least Thrustmaster sent me some
replacement pots hen I had my T2.

Thanks,
John

I'm not sure about the wheel pot but I have successfully replaced my pedal
pots with joystick units from CH.  If I recall correctly the wheel pot had a
similar shape and size to the pedal ones. CH is also dead easy to order
parts from.  Go to http://www.chproducts.com/index.html and click on the
"online store" then "spare parts"

Yes, Pedal pots from CH pedals work perfectly on a LWFF.

I believe all the pots on the Logitech are the same, so,  just swap the wheel
pot for a pedal pot.  Spiking under braking won't be so noticible

The logi  wheel pots (at least the FF-one, but the yellow one should be the
same)are 100k, so are the (old mach) CH-stick pots.
The pedals  have 10k-pots.
The only source for wheel pots I know is MikeT, who modifies high-qual spectrol
pots to fit into the wheel.

BTW: the above mentioned data is for the old Logis. But IMO the new one should
have the same pots.

Does CH sell them separately?
