Jim Pearson's "Adelaide 2002 Sprint" for GPL - alt. download site?

by Chris Not » Wed, 25 Feb 2004 11:00:09

A club that I race with is planning to run at "Adelaide 2002 Sprint" next
week. I've gone to Jim Pearson's website, and while the link for the high
res. version works, the low res. link is down. I have been unable to find
an email address for Mr. Pearson anywhere on his site.

Help, anyone? An alternate site? An email address for Jim Pearson? Thanks
for your time.

Chris Noto.

Jim seems to keep monitoring his Isle of Man thread on RSC quite
frequently. Maybe try that, once RSC is up again.

Chris, I got the following response from Jim:
------------------Message from Jim--------------------
Thanks David

I spent 6 hours yesterday making a FULL 4 bit conversion of Adelaide 2002
with Adelaide 67 GP Circuit to follow.

The "low Res" versions/mip packs offered for these two circuits up to date
only converted a few close to track textures from the original *** the
processor 16 bit mips.

These NEW 4 bit conversions are ALL 4 bit exceptthe sky/Horizon so should
run with much better frame rates, even with the High Res cars.

I should have the Adelaide 2002 FULL 4bit version download link up again
sometime today.

BTW the term "low Res" is somewhat innacurate. The 4 bit mips are the same
dimensions and have the same number of pixels eg 256x256 they just have less
than the 16bit 24 million colours, o the memory required for each is only
about 1/3 rd, which is why frame rates hould be much better FOR ALL VIDEO
CARDS and for CPU under about 2.5 gigahertz.

Please post this message in your news group and my best wishes for a smooth
high frame rate race.

Cheers

Jim
