Help! NCR thinks I'm using a joystick!

Here's my problem: I run Nascar Racing on my desktop computer no problem.
When I try to run it on an IBM ThinkPad, it thinks I have a joystick, asks for
calibration, and then constantly "scrolls" through the menus so fast that I can
even make a choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
