GP2, revisited

GP2, revisited

by Simon Goodwi » Mon, 03 Nov 1997 04:00:00

I had the original World Circuit on my (20 meg) hard drive for 4 or 5
years and played it regularly. Now after 18 months or so, I still have
GP2 loaded and I play it all the time. The competing products come and
go (as do the 3D shoot-em-ups and the strategty things), but GP2 is
utterly fantastic and I always go back to it. Incidentally, there are a
number of third-party utilities on the Net which allow you to alter
almost every aspect of the game (including grip). With a little
tweaking, I'm sure you could get the driving model much more to your
liking.

Nascar 2's (non-rendition) frame rate is suprisingly bad after the great
performance of ICR2, but it's a solid game and I'm looking forward to
NROS. The driving model in IndyCar II feels wildly unrealistic compared
to GP2, but I still enjoy the game once in a while. Find yourself a
comparable modem opponent for GP2 and you'll really have a blast!

Regards, Simon
