Steering wheels in Australia?

by Infamous Capt Pota » Thu, 13 Dec 2001 12:52:46

Hello people,

I have been reading with interest the various recommendations for
steerings wheels, as I plan to purchase one shortly. However, many of
them do not seem to be available in Australia (or Adelaide, at least),
so I would like some suggestions from the Aussies in this NG about
their personal preferences.

At this stage I am budgeting up to AU $200, but will go higher if
given good reason to so do. I am planning to use it primarily for
GPL (which I purchased some 18 months ago, but have never really used,
as my crappy joystick made it impossible to drive).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Anthony.

Just look around for an older type logitec wingman ff red
as they had a cable inside and are better !
forget the yellow new lwff as they had cogs etc and a lame setup with
buttons etc

IF he can still find those, it'll be a lot more then the $200 he wants to
spend :(  but yep, go for one of these.  if not a the new lwff gp is not a bad
compromise.

Games Wizards have the new LWFFGP for $159 at present which is $90 off
usual price.

I have a Logitech formula wheel that I can no longer use due to XP. It is
the all black one. Still in good nick and I am looking to sell.

In the Southern Hemisphere, does the Coreolis Effect make the wheels turn right
when you turn he wheel left? I know it affects the water going down the
gurgler....
