I saw a post here not long ago that said EA's Superbike 2001 won't run on
WinXP.
I installed it today and it's running beautifully on my WinXP box with a
Radeon 8500.
I've also read in another group that HH Baseball 2002 doesn't run on XP alo,
and yet I installed that today too and it's running fine.

yeah, but you have to have your desktop set to 126 bits max, if you try 24
or 32 bits it won't run....and besides that the game is ***under XP, the
framerate just stinks compared to GPL, N4 or IL-2

Not an issue but I will test it to see for myself, I run most games at 16bit
anyway. And my frame rate is very good in SBK 2001, running at 1280x1024
with most eye candy on and it's running faster on my R8500 under XP compared
to how it ran on my GF2 under Win98. What video card are you using?

it's not the GAME you must run in 16bits, it's your windows
desktop...otherwise it doesn't lauch.

I have a basic geforce2 which is perfect for GPL, N4 and sturmovik (and F1RC
but it's less demanding cause it's better programmed)

Great bike racing SIM!

I got it to work by changing the compatability mode to "Windows 98" and it
worked like a charm.  Great FPS..  no draw backs at all.

(PIII 866, GF2 MX200 64meg and WinXP)

Yea, so what? Is that such a big deal to you? Many games have to have the
desktop set to 16bit or else you will incur a performance hit. Takes me all
of two seconds to switch from 32bit to 16bit.

SBK 2001 is one of the most efficient and best looking graphics engines for
racing sims around. Maybe THE best of them all. I don't know what your
problem is on your machine, but it's running great for me under XP.

Hm, I din't even have to do that. What problem did you see with it not in
compatibility mode?

You don't have to re-boot first?

No. That is an option you set under the Genral tab of the advanced display
properties for your desktop. Just select the option that says, "Apply the
new display display settings without restarting".
