very cool simulator setup

A friend of mine (actually my team manager of Primus Racing (FF2000
team)) has set up an incredible simulator for games like GP2 or ICRII.
He built a frame out of wood, put an actual Van Deimen F2000 seat in
it so it feels like you are in a race car.  He took a T2, mounted a
real Momo wheel on it, made the steering a bit tighter (i guess a
bigger *** band), mounted buttons on the wheel (for shifter) and
rewired the shifter part to the wheel mounted buttons.  To the
footpetals which are mounted in the frame, he made both pedals
stiffer, and made the brake pedal a bit more stiff (for better
simulation).  I got a chance to play in the unit, it is really cool.
Too bad he spent all the time building the simulator when his computer
is lacking in power for these games, it is a DX2-66.  It runs with all
details off, but it would be nicer to have it all.

PS - I don';t know how many people do this type of thing, but it
shocked me when I saw it and I thought i would share what i have seen.

There's a guy in Australia makes up Kits like these (starts around $1K I think)
His full system can include a full mockup car, wide screen TV, and a huge
speaker mounted behind the seat :-)
