Unfortunately TOCA is a Euro release only,  you can, however, order
directly from the Codemaster web site, I believe it's about 34 quid
including shipping.  The playstation version isn't compatible with the
North American console, so only the PC version will be of any use.

Are you serious? Man, that's going to make some pirate's day, they
love stuff like that. I can't believe the company would be stupid
enough to not release in North America - everyone's STARVED for a
decent 3dfx racer, they could make a killing.

OK, that's not quite so bad - but it's *still* inviting piracy to have
the release seperated by months. It's just like Moto Racer last year,
which I've heard was one of the most pirated games of 97.

I got an e-mail from Codemasters customer service. They will not be releasing
TOCA in the US due to license agreements with certain parties. In their words,
you will only be able to order it from them when it is released in December.
The cost will be 34.99 (UK pounds) plus 7.00 (UK Pounds)  for
postage and packing.

So it's a pirate's heaven with this one I guess. Silly bunts.

Ideally, we would have liked to have released TOCA world wide on all
formats on the same day. Unfortunately, this was not possible, but
TOCA _will_ be released in North America Q1. The release version of
TOCA now supports more 3D acceleration cards, the Cyrix bug has been
fixed, and the improved network play version is seriously good fun!

Hello Gavin. Just wanted to say with all the releases and letdowns
lately in the racing genre ie. CART Prec. Rac. etch. this demo that you folks
came out with was superb in my oppinion. Its been a LONG time since I went
door handle to door handle and began to crack a smile on my face. My biggest
question I have Gavin, will there bee some major improvements in the graphics
before the release here in the states? Or better yet, a Glide patch soon
after? Better yet, Glide support OOTB??
OK, stick a fork in me!!!!!!!
I'm done.......

Thanks for your time Gavin,
Tony Gaylord - Portland, OR

Welcome to R.A.S., Gavin.  Don't take anything you read here to
heart... :)  I really like the TOCA demo; I'll buy this game for
sure.

Will the improved network play include TCP/IP support?  And does
your multiplayer game have computer-controlled cars on the track?

>Will the improved network play include TCP/IP support?

Yes, it does!

You only race against the human players present in the current
session. All on-screen cars have the player names in huge letters
above each car so you know who you're mashing up, and you can build up
a league table of wins - just like single PC multi player mode. You
can also use the bonus cars in the network option - blowing up the
opposition in the tank is very good fun (or very annoying if you're
not the tank...)

Thanks for all your comments - they will all be taken into
consideration should we do TOCA 2!
