Opinions are very personal things, but I have to say I love this. It
is a game I can play to a fair standard within several hours of
practice at a straightforward track like A1 Ring (LOVE that
backdrop!). Unlike GPL, which demand a religious-like commitment to
even stay on the track (NOTE, that does not make GPL a bad game, far,
far from it). The GPL accolytes sometimes seem to overlook the fact
that only simulation 'professionals' could ever get true satisfaction
from it (NOTE, that does not make GPL a bad game, far, far from it).

Also, it works smooth as silk at 1024x768 with everything on on my
Athlon 700 with V3-3000, unlike the recent F1-2000 which chugged like
the original GP2 did all those years ago.

The rain is fantastic, the handling is good enough to satisfy me, I
find the graphics excellent, particularly the background photos and
sky & it doesn't make me feel a mug like GPL does. Only wish a sim
would allow us to complete a parade lap and line up on the grid
ourselves though.

The presentation is not as nice as F1-2000 and there are a few rough
edges. GPL still has the best physics model by far but I think GP3
makes a pretty good all rounder that average joes will get on very
well with.

One other minor issue, the 22mb AVI that I downloaded some weeks ago
has pit voices in it but the game seems devoid of them. Is this like
the pace car & black flags another feature dropped during development?

I am Homer of Borg. Resistance is....Ooooh, donuts.

Well said, I totally agree. The warez version does not have pit voices etc..
but maybe a few little extras will be in the official release (hopefully).

Could you tell me what the track surface looks like on your V3 system during
a wet race from the  "TV Camera" view?

On my machine (V3) it look like this:

if possible?? :))

Thanks

The scenery is a vast improvement for me for sure.  Was so enthralled
by it I actually drove off the track at one point.  Ok though, no
broken bones.:-)

Yes but they don't ask me to stop in the pitlane as they should.

And you can take a real flier across the grass at the bus stop at Spa
- great for qualifying laps.

Loving it more and more.....

This is true.  Today I flipped the car end over end down the track at
the first turn.........having a blast, but man do I suck as a
driver.:-)
