Sega Rally 2: Sure is pretty!

Just got the demo from 3D Files. Has the same really exaggerated "hang
it out all day" slides as the first one. Lots of fun if you like
arcade racers. I've only played it for a few minutes, and can't wait
to try a LAN game.

Even if you're not into the game, the graphics are stunning.
Even with the 800x600 limit.

It's the same as the first tho in that it has no longevity, nothing to keep
you interested and too high a price.

Fun for an hour or two maybe but you'll be left wanting something more
substantial.

Sounds like the difference between a one-night stand and real
committment.  So how is that different from NFSx?  Still could sell a
million copies if it's as good an arcade-style racer as NFS3/4.....
When I want longevity I fire up GPL - that takes committment.  If I
only have 30 minutes available and don't have time or energy for
committment, a round with NFS or CMR or one of those will do just fine.

am I right in thinking that the demo supports multiplayer, because you
mention you can't wait to play it on the LAN?

cheers

IMO, SRC2 is worse thatn NFS3.

Commercial PC version of SRC2 has been*** around here in Hong Kong for months and I recently get NFS3 (whcih is in dirt cheap "Classic" package) SRC2 in PC lack the kind of FF support and worse, the perspective of SRC2 is very poorly done.

I am learning GPL for weeks and yes, it is the kind of racing game I am playing in long run. (Well, Hong Kong does not even import GPL, I have to order it from Chips'n Bits)

Regards,
Griffin.

NFS is much better... CMR is fantastically better.

SR2 isn't all that. If I'd paid for it and not just played it on someone
elses machine I'd have felt robbed. It's about as good as Daytona and Sega
Rally were (on the PC).

It seems to, Rob. I haven't had a chance to install it on my second
machine and actually try it, but you can click on Multiplayer, and
choose from TCP/IP, IPX, etc.

Hm, Sega Rally 2 makes Screamer Rally look like the GPL of rally games!
Awfull! CMR is way ahead of this simple game. And if you find the graphics
stunning, what games have you been playing lately?!? Take a look at NFS 4:
now there are some stunning graphics! (Don't get me wrong: I'm talking about
the graphics here: the best I've ever seen in a driving game, I'm not
talking about gameplay and car handling...)

Never played Screamer Rally. I only played the NFS4 demo, and the
control and handling with a wheel felt so funky and wrong that I
didn't spend much time on it.
I've been playing Viper, GPL, N3, SCGT and SODA lately.

I regard it just a product featuring a popular character. =)
