Hi,

Perhaps someone out there can help me. I'm looking for a GPL "league".
I live in Alabama (USA). Most leagues seem to race once a week but
unfortunately I don't have that much time, so I'm looking for
something that races once a month. I've already looked on RSC forums
but haven't found anything yet.
Any ideas? Thanks.

What length races are you prepared to race?

I meant to say "I usually race intermediate short or long races with
MY friends OR on VROC. My fingers aren't working correctly tonight,
and I haven't even been drinking!

The reason I ask is because I run a monthly league but we go 95% GP
distance. This might be a challenge or maybe it's simply too long for you?
If you would like to know more, feel free to drop me a line :-)

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the info. I'm definately interested. When I have the time,
race distance is not so much of a problem. I just don't want to join a
league that races every week and they get pissed at me when I only
show up every now and again. I wish I had more time. The other issue
is whether I'm even in your league. No joke intended. Here are some
example times:

Kyalami: 1:22:13
Monaco: 1:33:87
Spa: 3:22:36
Zandvoort: 1:28.17

I want to join a league as that will give me a reason to get better on
other tracks. On VROC I race the same tracks all the time because I
know them. Also a month between races gives me some time to practice
on a new track so I can get around the thing in one piece.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Richard.

I don't know what happened to the rest of my previous message. I'm
doing this from work.
Anyway, thanks Marc, but I'm in the US on Central time. I will take a
look but it may be at very bad times for me. But thanks for the info.

Richard.

I've never seen any once-a-month leagues, and every-other-week leagues are a
bit rare as well.  So what you may come down to is a weekly league where
guys aren't beating you up for missing races ;-)

The ASRL-GPL league runs FD races every Sunday night at 8:30 your time.
Nobody cares if you only race once a month, we have a number of guys who
only race 2 or 3 times in a 10-week season.  (IIRC, last year we averaged
about 25 members, with 13-16 for each race.)  There's quite a range of speed
in the group, so you'd have someone to race with regardless.  We try to run
a schedule parallel to the pro series, so we end up racing at tracks that
either F1, CART, IRL, or even GrandAm are running the same weekend.

Current league info is at www.geocities.com/wardsbro
