Who is still racing those gpl ovals?

I was just wondering because I won't bother installing them anymore on my
new system.
It's fun for the first time but it gets boring quite fast. If we had a good
oval AI for it it would be more fun.  How much fun is N3 without the AI? Not
much. And since I don't see a lot of oval races on VROC anymore I guess the
hype is over.

Too bad, I thought the GPL ovals were a blast on-line.

I think a Oval racing series for GPL would; be great for any of those league
organizers out there. esspecially as we get more ovals. It has a great Old
school Indy feel to it, and it's great fun.

I know of at least one series that runs the ovals.  We run the road
courses for a trophy and the ovals for another trophy.  then we have a
trophy for both combined.

The Ovals are fun if you have the right crowd and a warp free connection
and enjoy F3's.  I've noticed the F1's warp badly with the ovals.

Better yet how do you make a setup that doesn't boil the right front
tire off?

Simple - create one that boils the right rear off! <g>

Here's a Lotus setup for C***te that with one or two minor tweaks
(camber changes should suffice) is very competitive at all of the large
ovals - Dega excepted of course.

                  Front
    Left                        Right      Steering Ratio: 20:1
20    Tyre Pressure (psi)    18       Fuel: 13 gallons
     75    Wheel Rate (lbs/in)    85
      4           Bump             4       Transmission Ratios
      5          Rebound           4       1st Gear:  7.529:1
    1.75      Camber (deg)      -0.75      2nd Gear:  5.471:1
    1.75    Bump *** (in)     1.75      3rd Gear:  4.568:1
                                           4th Gear:  3.844:1
    Toe-in:              0.000 in          5th Gear:  3.444:1
    Roll Bar Stiffness:  140 lbs/in
    Static Ride Height:  2.50 in
Front Brake Bias:    58%               Diff Ratio:  3.100:1
    Toe-in:              0.175 in          Ramp Angles: 85/85
    Roll Bar Stiffness:  200 lb/in         Clutches:    1
    Static Ride Height:  2.50 in

     22    Tyre Pressure (psi)    20
     90    Wheel Rate (lbs/in)   100
      4           Bump             5
      4          Rebound           4
    1.75      Camber (deg)      -1.50
    1.75    Bump *** (in)     1.75      Asymetrical: Y

                   Back
