all is well and it's up and running!
The sim is definitely living up to all the hype I used to read from
the rabid GPL'ers here on ras some time ago.
Thanks to all that offered advice, things to try, etc. It turned out
to be a combination of needing the right patches as well as having
suffering from a big dose of Operator Error.
Now that I'm gleefully skidding across the track and into the fence...
I have dedcided that I wouldn't mind sampling some downloaded car
sounds. They're in a zip file... BUT... I can't seem to figure out
this new-fangled XP unzip feature.
I'm SUPPOSED to be able to simply unzip the file to my
sierra/gpl/sounds folder, and it is SUPPOSED to do its thing.
Well, this XP unzip program didn't.
Previously with Winzip, I used to be able to hit "Extract" on the
Winzip program window, and tell it to extract to, say,
c:\sierra\gpl\sounds\*.wav... and the prog would ask if I want to
overwrite the existing files... I would click "Yes", and it was a done
deal.
How do I get this wimpy XP zip function to place these files in the
sounds folder correctly?
Anybody know?
Thanks for any tips.
