I have unintentionally gone for Rob Swindells crash flip record.
I posted a crash replay to alt.binaries.simulators.autos that happened
to me at the Oring during a VROC race with Pro damage on. It may also
take the altitude record.
Look for  "Oring Crash"

I think you got the top speed record as well, 244 mph just after take off.
Nice one.

Someone wanna either post this on the Internet or mail it to me?  I can't dload
stuff off newsgroups (Damn AOL!)  Thanks.  I'm gonna go for the world record
now.  Wish me luck!  (Personal best "realistic" flip to date:  14 rolls I
think)

I looked at yours Robin, and I'm now going to have to claim the
altitude and spins record for "a car with only one wheel on". The
altitude of both replays is amazing. Look at it frame by frame from
the roll bar and see how high it is, it's like being up in a plane!
There's some weird physics going on that can't be realistic.

You still get the launch (or is it all time GPL?) speed record!
Definitely weird physics, guess GPL was never meant to be a flight sim : )
I cant believe how high my car got, it was only when I watched the replay
and it took forever to land that I realised.

Pretty wild ride, I might have you tho' <G> can't touch the speed but
the altitude is pretty close and I didn't count the flips - gonna need
an unobjective ruling here....  or am I disqualified since it was an
on-line incident (good ol' collision detection...)

I zipped the replay and put it at alt.binaries.simulators.autos under
header Eagle Airlines...

I also put a quicky link on the web site at
http://home.att.net/~jbwyatt/misc/navigate.html

aol's users, if the browser doesn't like the ~ in the url, use this
one and just go to the 2nd page...   http://jbwyatt.home.att.net

~The Lotus went for a pretty nifty ride too, but my Eagle definitely
spread her wings - the landing is sweet...

Hi all,

Can someone explain to this alt.binary.whatever newbie how i go
about accessing these types of sites?

I've seen these all over the place but don't have a clue how to
go about getting there.

Do I need special software or do I do it through my browser?

Anyway any help would be appreciated sine I've got a good flip
replay from Silverstone I could let you have look at.  :-)

Thanks,

Phil

whatever you're using to get here, (Outlook, Agent, Netscape, whatever
news reader) just tell it to go to ALT.BINARIES.SIMULATORS.AUTOS
instead of REC.AUTOS.SIMULATORS

The newsgroups with BINARIES in the title are where you can get away
with attaching files to your posts.... you can do it in any of them
but you'll catch hell for it if it's not a binary group... that's why
they aren't posted here and instead just a mention of where to find
it....

Aha...mine was online as well. Is that why we get this weird physics?
I'd never seen anything like it until I started on VROC a week ago.

ALT.BINARIES.SIMULATORS.AUTOS isn't available through any ISP.

Sorry but you have no idea of what your talking about.  The newsgroup called
alt.binaries.simulators.autos is on a vast majority of newsgroup servers who
handle Binary newsgroups.  If your ISP doesn't offer a server good enough to
have it 1) request the NG or 2) Pay for a private newsserver.

Still, this newsgroup is pretty much empty most of the time.
