!!!!
Ok. I got roasted over a couple of flaming emails with
the suggestion that you all try out the new DAYTONA. Let
me give you my thinking and that will be it. First off
I will give you my negatives of the DEMO.. But we must
remember its a DEMO. Thats like FREE!!!!
NEGATIVES!!!!
1). Number one complaint of mine is not enough
laps. We got 2.. I think Papyrus limited
us in there demos to like 5 or 9.. I don't
remember..
2). Of Course we all know that the track doesnt
resemble DAYTONA in any form. I can live with
That..
3). Yes.. I think a couple of more options could have
been enabled.
4). 5MB Download. It took me almost almost 2 minutes
to download this using my HUGHES DSS Satelite link
at 400,000 BPS!!!!
SUMMARY: Yes, thier are a couple of negatives. To some
people its the end of the world, to some others
they hate SEGA because SEGA has the DAYTONA track
and not PAPYRUS!!! We'll Get used to it as
I heard that SIERRA/PAPYRUS just lost INYDCAR to
SONY!!!
POSTIVES!!!
1). WINDOWS 95 vs DOS/4GW - What I was trying to
illustrate was that a racing / driving /arcade sim
could be implemented in WINDOWS 95 using DIRECTX 3.0.
2). GRAPHICS - The Graphics of DAYTONA.. Again its only
my opionion is SUPERIOR to the GRAPHICS of NASCAR.
Personally I like Indycar II better than both, but
that was a RICK GENTER implementation. The Auto-Sim
World Lost a ton when we lost GENTER and his TEAM!!!
3). DRIVERS VIEWING PERSPECTIVE - When I am driving ICR2 its great
you are setting in OPEN***pit and you can see and drive
left and right!! There is no game better than ICR2 for
Driving. NASCAR on the other hand is like driving
through a COKE BOTTLE.. You see a little bit of the
track and a ROOF line so low you cant see around some
corners.. With the SEGA product you have 4 views and
you can change them with control keys.. I like the
views. Thats its.. I DONT KNOW HOW I EVER WON OVER
227 RACES AT HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and right and you.
Next: SEGA RALLY!!!
The SEGA RALLY LINK and message from SEGA RACING will
be posted this week. SEGA is extending a hand to the
SIM RACERS to help them design and imrpove thier racing
games...
