GP2: My $0.02

Okay, I know some a ya'll don't care for GP2, and so on, and so on, ad
infinitum. And some a ya'll think it's just the coolest thing.

Well, uhm...I think I'll just come out of lurking, post my 2 cents, and return
to lurking again.

It's not the best, I'm not the first to say that. It's got some problems here
and there. Oh well. I personally think it's pretty cool. Sure, I can't run
it worth a ***in SVGA, but I'm content with VGA. And this GP2Jam thing, man
it rocks, I can customize some really cool stuff now. You cry out. "NO!! I
WANT MY RAIN, MY RED FLAGS, ALL THE THINGS THEY LEFT OUT!!! IT'S ONLY A
BETA!!!"

So? I'm not in it for all the cool little features. I'm in just for the sheer
fun of racing. I'd like rain just as much as the next sim racer, but oh well,
take what you can get, be happy, and live with it. Life goes on.

I payed full price ( $50-60) for it, and I am am thrilled to own it.

Okay, I'll lurk now. See ya!

Hear Hear!!

I too get sick of the 'I can't get moving clouds and lightning at 30
fps, so the game must suck' crowd.

I play the game on a 486 with low detail and only a few textures. It's
still the best graphics I've seen in a racing sim, and it's still great
fun to play. Sure, I'd _like_ more detail, weather, etc., but it doesn't
ruin my fun. There's enough here to occupy me for a long time to come.

Let the whiners be miserable - I'm having a great time!

Yep.....and we'll probably have less stress, less ulcers, not be prone to
heart problems, smile more and live longer!  Great, isn't it? :-)

If you'll investigate the "real" problems of GP2 at hand the wet
weather, no utilities, etc.
you'll find its a major blunder in alot of areas.

Just for the sake of wasting bandwidth, I will agree with you both as
well.  Some people need to understand that these are GAMES and not
real life.  The people that *** about the picky ***are the ones
that don't have anything more constructive to do with their time than
find things that are wrong with perfectly good GAMES and post their
gripes on the net.  I love GP2, ICR2, and Nascar 2.  I think they are
all great sims and I get hours of enjoyment out of each of them.

It's even greater to watch those who aren't easy to please  shrivel in utter
frustration. It makes me enjoy every GP2 second even more ;-)
