Hi all,

Just a quick question for the Aussies: Do any of you know if someone
has made a Bathurst track for GPL? If so, could you point me in the
right direction.

Thnx.

not for gpl, but there is a very good version of Mt Panorama for SCGT.
I also have heard of gp2 tracks of Bathurst, but I never saw/heard of the
quality.

In the same vein...

Did the old Tasman Series ever visit Bathurst? The Tasman Series was a
thing of the past by the time I was born, so it's onl;y recently that
i've learned some of the greats represented in GPL used to come down
here and race - purely for the love of it, too.

The right direction doesn't exist, unfortunately. :-(

(God! I wish someone would produce Mt. Panorama for GPL).

The blokes over at the Tasman Project need detailed maps of Bathurst  and
its many elevation changes,  any help  from ppl  would be greatly
appreciated  for this track to even get started.

Well, I would suggest that they contact the NSW Government Lands Dept. for
help and advice in obtaining topographical maps and data for that area.
Additionally, the ARDC will most likely have details, as would the local
survey office (Council) in Bathurst.

There's a start.

Well at this point I'll pop into the conversation since I'm the
one who made the GP2 track that all others were based on.
I based it on a video I have of the 1997 V8 supercar race, and
the GP3 version I'm working on now has a few minor touches to make
it even more exact.

As far as GPL goes, its a game that I've been meaning to get for
quite a while now, so maybe somebody can give me a quick rundown
on what is required to make a track for it.  Like, is there an
editor freely available like the one for GP2 and GP3?
It might just be the project that makes me get the game.
