Super 1 Karting Offline League rules posted

by John Bod » Thu, 07 Jun 2001 00:52:49

I am pleased to announce that we currently have twenty-one (21)
participants signed up for the Super 1 Karting Offline League, with at
least two more pending.

I have updated the rules S1K Offline League site -- please visit the
site, take some time to look over the rules, and let me know if you
have any questions or issues. The URL is:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/~jbodin/s1koffline.htm

If there are any issues with the rules, I am definitely willing to
make changes if a majority of you feel that there need to be changes.

Note that I have included some sample setups on the rules page --
these setups work okay for me, but I'm sure they're not ideal (your
mileage may vary <G>). At any rate, these settings will give you an
idea of how to set your gearing for various tracks at the very least
(the default gearing is HORRIBLE, IMO).

Additionally, check out the "Standings" page; this currently lists all
the participants by nickname. If you've already signed up and your
team name is blank, you will need to select a team name. If you would
like to partner with someone else, it is okay to have multiple people
on the same team. If we end up with several multi-kart teams, I may
also track team points in addition to individual points (only
individual points will be counted for the overall championship,
though).

I don't have the schedule posted yet, but our opening race will be
Shenington, with submissions for that race due by midnight GMT on
Saturday, June 16th. Buckmore Park will be our second event, due one
week later, and then Rowah will be our third race on the schedule.  I
should have the full schedule posted on the S1K Offline League site
sometime tomorrow, hopefully.
