I just rented the game, I'm having a total blast with it! Long ago, I once
made a general suggestion for a game to include a true career mode. As in,
starting on dirt tracks and working your way up. Finally, such a game
exists. And it's fun, too. :-)

Cudos to Infogrames for releasing this title. Woohoo!

I assume you are talking PS2.  At one time there was going to be an Xbox
version of this game.  Anybody know what ever happened to it?  I think
this is the successor to NASCAR Heat, so I am hoping for an Xbox port.

Yep, I am referring to the PS2 version. It's the only console version I'm
aware of, so I'm not sure if it's coming to X-Box or not. Though, I would
love to see a PC version since I don't have a wheel for my PS2. Your last
statement is correct. According to the box, it's from the creators of NASCAR
Heat.

Yeah, it's an MGI sim.  I haven't heard anything about an X-Box port,
and I really don't want to stoop to buying a PS2 or Gamecube for one
game. =/

PS2s are down to about US$130 here in Australia at the moment.  If there was
even *one* decent PS2 game available I'd be tempted...

Gran Turismo 3.  I can't imagine many in this ng wouldn't at least
consider this an entertaining diversion.  And also wishing that
something similar, albeit with the simulation aspect cranked up, was
available for the PC.

Really, sim vs game arguments aside, this is an amazing title.  Yes,
there is lots frustrating (AI, no dash/fenders etc, only 6 cars to a
race).  But the rest is gold.
