Right, anyone patched their 3dFX V3 card with the latest beta? If so, can
you run Toca2? Mine's all squiggly and impossible to use. Ah well, at least
the bike ones are working!

Yes. Same problem here with beta drivers and my V3-3500. TOCA2 menu screens
are un-readable.

Thanks, Sal, it's not just me. I've emailed CMs support, and if I hear
anything I'll post in here. Is it possible to reinstall older 3dfx drivers,
I wonder?

Something which I've heard done with GPL is to place the 3Dfx
drivers in the application (GPL) directory.  That's the first place
the PC will look for them and its a way to force a particular
application (and just that application) to use a non-standard driver.

BTW, I'm not a Voodoo guy, don't even play one on TV, so don't sue
me if it doesn't work for you.  Just something you hear on the
newsgroups...  Good luck.

nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark

Colin, I don't know if this is the same thing as you have, but once I
installed the newest 3dfx drivers from www.3dfx.com, menu screens were
unreadable in all 3dfx games except GPL.
Turned out that I had to lower those three gamma slides in voodoo
properties to solve this. I think GPL didn't have this problem because
I had the Glide 2.53 drivers in the GPL direcotry.

I just got an email from Codemasters - say what you want about them, but
I've always found them to be very prompt - asking for my dxdiag info....is
it possible that they didn't know about these new drivers and compatibility?
Only speculation...I take your comments on board, Andre, and thank you for
them, but I'm going to wait and see what they have to say. If they say to
reinstall the older drivers then I'll follow your suggestion, but to be
honest (although I haven't checked every single game I have) it seems to be
TOCA-specific.
Will report back with my findings!

As suspected, it's the latest beta drivers that were in conflict with Toca
2, and Codemasters only suggestion was to reinstall the older drivers. They
assured me they were now working on it, though...
