INDY TRACK!! WHO CARES?

by JG » Sat, 09 Nov 1996 04:00:00

It seems like finding the Indy track for NASCAR and ICR2 is a big
deal.  Everybody wants to race at Indy.  I hear you Nascar fans, but
as far as Indycars go, that is a thing of the past for now.  Tony
George can bite me, and Indy is part of the IRL (Idiot Racing League)
now, so who cares.

Just one more IRL bash.  Did anyone even watch the opening race for
the 96-97 IRL season?  What a joke, and how bout that attendance!  I
think the Nascar trucks would have pulled in a better crowd.  O.K.
Enough.

So what is the big deal with the Indy track and all this talk about
copyrights and pirating software?  I know 2 or 3 web sites that you
can just download it from and you can get everything to convert it to
the new games on AOL and Compuserve except the "indy.dat" file.  Or
someone will E-mail it to you I'm sure.  I just saw it recently on
alt.binaries.simulators.autos.

I think there are enough tracks out there to keeps us plenty busy.  If
the tracks themselves don't support our simulators then they need to
wake up.  I'm sure 90% of us racers are actual race fans, so I think
the software companies and track owners need to find a way past the
legal stuff and give us the tracks.  What are they possibly losing?

Anyway, let me know your comments on this and let us just race.

If you want the track anyway E-mail me and I will tell you where to
get it.

COMING SOON  "***MOSH RACING"  my web page devoted to auto racing
and simulators.

P.S. One more thing on IRL.  Auto racing is an industry and sport of
cutting edge technology, right?  So what is the deal with the IRL
going to naturally aspirated engines to cut out millions of dollars of
spending and cut costs?
Oh I forgot, I guess it's that attendence thing.
