I've seen a message in the past about a program that you can easily shut
down programs running in the background ....ala Ctr+Alt+Del .........to
free up system resources.  If anyone has a program or knows of a program
please let me know! I have heard all you need running is Explorer and
one other. I would like to optimize my aging P200 system so i can get
the most out of GPL & F1RS etc... :-)

You could turn off the sun and it wouldn't help, you need a good 3d card
minimum.
Thriller 8 meg will get you decent frame rates with minimum cars and
graphics.
To get the full effect in GPL you need a 350-400 cpu.
I upgraded and it was worth every penny.

I'm running an MMX P200 and with a few tweaks I'm able to run most
textures on with 10 AI at 25-36fps depending on action. What I've done
is set a 200mb swapfile. And as far as GPL goes there are many tweaks
that can be done, such as sound quality, car shadows, detail bias etc.
The way I have GPL is good, but not perfect however. That's why I'm
getting a PII-450 when the prices drop next year :-)

Cheers!
